Goal

The goal of Program Twelve is to invite Catholic women to consider the possibility that they may have a vocation to religious life and that the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul offer a wealth of possibilities and enriching challenges as part of that invitation.

Steps

1. Show the video "Program Twelve: When God Calls"

2. Ask students to form small groups to describe the following impressions from the video:

• Who is Sr. Lucy Bethel and why did she join the Sisters of
  Providence?
• What are some of the prerequisites of becoming a Sister of Providence?
• What is the Sister of Providence's charism statement?
• What are the benefits of becoming a Sister of Providence?

3. Option for Take-Home Assignment. Using the internet, find more facts about:

• The history of Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul.
• The mission statement of Sisters of Providence.
• The ministries that the Sisters of Providence are involved in.
• How Canadian Catholics can support the work of Sisters of Providence.
